Six Flags Announces New Attractions for Atlanta Parks in 2015

Today Six Flags made their yearly announcements for each park in the chain. It has became a yearly tradition to announce every park’s addition simultaneously. The Atlanta parks of Six Flags over Georgia and White Water were not left out of the fun. Six Flags Over Georgia announced 2 new flat ride attractions for the Gotham City area of the park, THE JOKER Chaos Coaster and Harley Quinn Spinsanity. Hurricane Harbor Opens at Six Flags Over Georgia

Six Flags Over Georgia Announces Return of Holiday In The Park

Today Six Flags Over Georgia announced the return of the Holiday In The Park event. After being missing for MANY years, the once popular event will make a return for the 2014 season starting November 22nd and running through January 4th! While details of what will be available are scarce, it will be exciting to follow this over the next few months to see what attractions, demonstrations, and shows we can look forward to in order to extend the 2014 season all the way to 2015! Hurricane Harbor Update

Well folks, At the headquarters for Destination South in Georgia, we just had a “snow event” that essentially shut down the city for two days . So, with it being the slow season still, let’s think about warmer weather by taking a look at the latest construction pictures of Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags Over Georgia courtesy of their Facebook page! Six Flags Over Georgia Announces New Water Park Expansion for 2014

Yesterday, Six Flags Over Georgia announced the largest single expansion in park history with the addition of an all new water park included within the grounds  for 2014. Dubbed Hurricane Harbor, the area will take the space being vacated by the impending removal of the Southern Star Ampitheatre. Additions to the area include an 800,000 gallon wave pool, a multi slide tower complex, and an interactive water play area for children. Destination South Visits Six Flags Over Georgia

I was able to get two rides in during my short stay due to the nonexistant line.

On 7/14/13, Destination South visited Six Flags Over Georgia for the first time since SkyScreamer Media Day. While the trip was primarily to finally process my Season Pass, I took a couple of loops around the park while visiting. With the threat of rain in the forecast (which would prove right by the end of my short stay), crowds were light other than at Dare Devil Dive. SkyScreamer Opens at Six Flags Over Georgia

Yesterday Destination South was invited to attend the Media Day preview of Six Flags Over Georgia’s new for 2013 attraction, SkyScreamer. SkyScreamer is billed as a 24-story version of the popular Starflyer style ride. The ride is a tower in which 32 riders swing at 40 miles per hour. SkyScreamer takes the spot formerly occupied by the Wheelie, and will open to Gold Passholders this weekend (May 11-12). Fun Spot Orlando recently announced via their Facebook page that they will soon be adding an Enterprise ride to their lineup… and it’s none other than the Wheelie, which just retired from a 35 year run at Six Flags Over Georgia.  Wheelie fans, rejoice!  Orlando is just a hop, skip, and a jump from Georgia!
